Welcome to Mrs. Oh's Math Class
Hi All:
I really want students to gain an understanding of ideas from Pre Statistics class during this semester. It is important to learn some fundamentals of statistics in order to better understand and evaluate information in the world. Anyone can learn important ideas of statistics by working hard at it, using good study habits, and working together with others.
Learning statistics means learning to communicate using the statistical language, solving statistical problems, drawing conclusions, and supporting conclusions by explaining the reasoning behind them. There are often different ways to solve a statistical problem. People may come to different conclusions based on the same data if they have different assumptions and use different methods of analysis.
Are students being adequately prepared to use statistical thinking and reasoning, to collect and analyze data, to write up and communicate the results of solving real statistical problems?
Discuss what you learned in this course. How will this course benefit you?
While taking this course I learned many new things. Even though I took a similar course in grade nine, there were still new things for me to learn and explore. During the semester we explored the basic programs on a computer. This year I learned how to use even more tools on programs such as Demos, Stat Crunch and Excel.
ReplyDeleteAfter taking this course, I can't say that I learned many new things, but Overall, this course is great to take starting statistics. It was a very fun semester, with a great class, and I am looking forward to taking the next course.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this class!
